I: Dualities 08:55
I stare blindly at the ceiling Giving way to the stars beyond Whose light on passing glances fall Many years have since passed So within my mind I venture And to prove myself thusly I climbed the highest peak To catch a glimpse at dying stars Whose light so warm yet distant Having provided no cold comfort shone upon that lonely room of perdition were I rest Swim in the oceans of time Breathe in the air of regret Gaze on a previous form and all is not how I've perceived Eternally in anguish, Perpetually in solace My soul will forever languish at the dawn of new found conscience Pain and suffering one and the same I see doors to the past, yet no one to blame I walk forth silhouetted The sun baring down on my back A duo clad black set before me Eternally casting two shadows To gaze into the mirror Only to see a face that is not your own Though finely constructed, echoing in your image It's empty eyes reflect an empty soul Eternally in anguish, Perpetually in solace My soul will forever languish at the dawn of new found conscience Pain and suffering one and the same I see doors to the past, yet no one to blame For I can see thee For I can hear thee Though in a conscious state I would not know Deep in this darkness That is my mind A state of deep regret I cannot hide Now that I can hear thee Now I can see Thought to be conscious Though long to be In this barren land of fog where the Shadows lie There are dualities That I can't deny

Within the confines of his shell A man lay unburied A state of unconsciousness Lost to the world Unwinding like thread Hope has since vanished Doubt and despair Seep into his soul The light in his eyes Which shone once so brightly Now sullen and grey All luster long spent Now spirited away to a land of fates choosing To tally his deeds Though that's just what some Say. Within the contents of his mind A man lay unburdened Visions and memories of triumphs long past Too vain in confessions His victories rekindled Memoirs and sagas are all inked in gold The tome, in which these Proud scriptures are kept is locked far beyond a grey wall of illusion Cursed by his hubris His thoughts had betrayed him and words writ in fools gold Turned to ash in his hands As the Sun early rises and in the eve sets There is not but rest For this man doomed to die Bereft of all honour failures lain bare Viewed by his peers with dispassionate eyes To accept peace through death Or a life worth not living Although in the end The choice is futile As time will forget this misfortune one This was the tale of a northern Son Lost in decisions Valuing neither life nor death Confronting delusions To his final breath His inner voice begins to speak What has this world done for you If peace is indeed what you seek Then let life go

Beyond the plains of man Far removed from our reality There exists in each and every one of us A single lonely tower The view from the spire is beautiful A wonder to behold yet The shadow cast by the dim moonlight Is as a plague across this world Peering into the soul of another Seeking to decipher their pain At war with their self reclusion Aware of the process of life slipping out their eyes like tears in rain Each night we sit atop our walls And gaze longingly upon the stars Empty and timeless caress Their incandescent radiance seems All but out of reach Hung within some fragile time that will never come again When all at once their light is snuffed out in an instant Peering From the sight of another Who seeks to decipher your pain Fighting with this self insurrection Aware of your life slipping out of your eyes With a heavy heart I gaze upon, The wrathful and spiteful ones Within their shallow graves Under vast grey skies Doomed to wilt Housed in Sullen trenches When the mind burns red, Illuminated eyes Outside is a shell There is nothing left inside Salt the earth with your tears Till it with your bones Our flesh shall Birth vast battlefields From which we will wander for lifetimes Held up by the miseries from great revelations

Seen in dim sunlight and moon shone bays I am an island Cursed to weather the needs of others until I am left bare. Who by the slow passage of time is eroded to but a former shell of oneself. resigned to be reclaimed by the sea. And so once again I find myself at a cliff on the edge of existence Overlooking The ocean under its surface My hopes and my dreams And I fear that if and when I dive I will be overcome and drown Reclamation A burial At sea Shipwrecked soul A lust to be free Behind every life is a liar Safe behind our mask while we grin and behind every death is a lover breaking hearts Till theirs breaks instead Fleeting memories Lush green fields Blues skies and Open seas Oh how I long for your comfort Now the world is dark, cold For a shroud has displaced all light Submerged Let the cold wash over you free you from sin No more pain Nights of lonely Sky Passing by Without a memory Of the day before That seemed so bright When the sun gave light Without presence Hollow casting shadows Sorrow
